Why Organic?

Cash Crop Clothing made the critical decision to convert all of its clothing lines to organic materials for a variety of reasons. However, before explaining the importance of organic farming and the use of organic materials, it is vital to fully define what the term “organic.” Organic means using materials that have been created fully by nature without the alteration of chemical substances. Third-party organizations, such as USDA National Organic Program, certify whether certain items are organic. Similar organizations exist abroad.

Here are facts discovered through research by CCC members.
1. Conventional techniques (such as adding pesticides) on cotton farming can be hazardous and cause various health risks including cancer and even death.
2. Many pesticides that are used in conventional farming were created during WWII and served toxins against enemies.
3. Organic farming promotes biodiversity, thus having a positive effect on the overall environment.
4. Organic farming allows farm workers to execute their tasks in a healthier environment and allows employers to offer more jobs.
5. Organic foods have been proven to have about 40% more antioxidants compared to foods grown on conventional farms
